A Navy Seal Jumps Ship

 In response:

Don't these MIC war mongers just hate it when one of their own jumps ship?

No matter how anyone spins it, Bin Laden was murdered and his body of evidence was summarily disposed of.

Was Obama's bragging about "taking him out" an attempt by Obama to be all hip and machismo or a direct slap in the face to those of us who still know the difference between right and wrong?

Murder is murder and terrorism is terrorism no matter what office the perpetrator(s) hold.

Fresh air has to be brought to the "above the law" arrogance that is subverting our country.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio - A Byproduct of Dehumanization

Arpaio is the byproduct of immigration laws and political propaganda which not only call for, but allow for, the systematic dehumanization of people for profit.

Does not the current political immigration debate and rhetoric lean toward the schizophrenic?

"We the People" Take a Stand

The time will come when Americans demonstrate true courage and take a stand against this utterly failed system of “profit politics” and deceit.

Why do we tolerate a system that only offers us the choice of picking between the "lesser of two evils"?   Why do we tolerate a system that only offers us the illusion of choice when in fact there is none?

In a true democracy no one would ever be put in that position.  Yet beyond all of the rhetoric in America today, that is exactly what we are left with.

“We the People” are shamefully being brought to our knees.  We see the lies behind of our corporate run democracy.  We see the lies behind 911.  We see the lies behind the war in Iraq and Afghanistan.  We see the lies behind the perpetual wars on drugs and immigration.  We see the lies behind the Wall Street banksters and the Great Recession of 2008.  We see the lies behind the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision.  We see the lies behind NDAA.  We see the lies behind drone murders.  We see the lies behind our failed health care, education, and poverty.

Need I go on?

God please give “We the People” the courage to take a stand.

"Shadows Convention March"

Arianna I think we need a Shadows Convention March.

Imagine thousands or hundreds of thousands of people marching in D.C. and across America while peacefully protesting your three tragic realities:  “the corrupting influence of money on our politics, the persistence of poverty in America, and the disastrous war on drugs”

I suggest that people carry signs but otherwise march in silence.

Everyone would be well aware beforehand of the “Shadow Conventions March”, its topics and purpose.  The time to debate these three horrific realities is through.  Without debate, our politicians and government pundits would not quite know what to do with the silence.

We also do not need to give the police a reason to cart us off to jail.

We need to draw worldwide attention this march and its topics. Worldwide media attention and worldwide embarrassment transmitted through silence would drive the message home better than any typical protest methods.

Please consider this Arianna.  Please consider using your status as a respected author, commentator, and head of the Huffington Post to help launch this idea.

Such an event would help bring Washington and America to its senses.

For the 99%, Mitt and Ann

For the 99%, Mitt and Ann

Questions for the 99% - how many multimillionaire friends do you have?  How many people do you know who stash money in over seas accounts and tell you its perfectly legal?

Comments to Mitt and Ann:  it's cool that you have lots of money.  It is not cool if Mitt used El Salvadoran assassin's money to get Bain Capital started.  It is also not cool if Mitt and Bain destroyed American companies and jobs to get financially ahead.

Ann - don't give me sob story that you know what it is like to come from my side of the tracks.  You not only do not know, you can't know.

Comment and Question for Mitt:  your choice to not reveal your taxes tells me that you have something to hide.  If it was OK for your dad George to agree to it, why shouldn't you?

Is the Israeli Government Ever Wrong?.

In response:

Rest in peace Rachel Corrie.

Is the Israeli government ever wrong for anything that it does?

It is like the horrible, tragically unimaginable Holocaust gives this present day government the green light to do unto others what was done to their ancestors.

Free Palestine. Stop Israeli foreign aid and weapons sales. Stop their war with Iran before it officially starts.

Our Schizophrenic Immigration System

In Response to:

This lawsuit perfectly reflects the schizophrenic immigration system that agents are asked to work within.   It is the trickle-down effect.  I know this because I used to work within it too.

Here’s an example:  The US Border Patrol Checkpoint located in California on Interstate 5 (San Clemente) used to shut down at 5PM every Sunday because of public complaints about backed up traffic coming north from San Diego.  God forbid the US Border Patrol inconvenience those weekend tourists for an extra half an hour or so!

Meanwhile - guess when all of the crooks who smuggled aliens and illegal drugs drove their shipments through?

Another example:  During the mid 1980’s Washington and INS investigators knew that at least 50% of the recipients of Amnesty obtained their “green cards”  by fraud.

Immigration politics and policies are directed by the 1% who “hires” whichever political party is in Washington.  It is not about the rule of law, common sense or what is most feasible.  It is about who
can make the most profit (financial, political, and economical) at the expense of US taxpayers and the undocumented.

Illegal Mexican immigration constitutes over 50% of the undocumented in the US.  Would these (over one-half of all the undocumented) come or stay in the US if they could make a decent living wage at home with their families?   Have you ever heard a US politician complain about the part the corrupt Mexican government plays in US problems with their citizens?

Wake up people!  This is the bi-national 1% ripping you off.  They only care about the status quo of 1.25 billion a day in cross border trade, cheap labor, illegal drug profits, Mexican oil, drug wars, and NAFTA.

Read how our own US Department of State describes our i.e. the
1%’s relationship with Mexico:

Do you want to do something about this and other 1% run government rip-offs to “We the People”?

Voting to Fix Our Beat Up American Car

Voting to fix our beat up American car;  must it break before it can be fixed?

Let’s say Obama and the Democrats are our car’s engine.  It has run for years on a prayer and a promise.  We see the  smoke and hear the clatter.  It has a gazillion problems.  It needs a major overhaul as the engine knocks, sputters, and barely starts.  The valves and pistons are shot.  The car guzzles gas and burns oil like crazy.  Obama promises that our car is OK and to make the necessary repairs.  He never quite gets it fixed.  He can’t.  The jalopy is out of control as it careens down our treacherous, windy road.  He can’t stop it AND fix it at the same time.  Meanwhile, “We the People Passengers” lives are in danger.

Let’s say Romney and the Republicans are the transmission of our car.  It too is only running on a prayer and a promise.  It needs  a major overhaul.  The gears slip and grind.  The transmission fluid is dark and thick as mud.  The majority of the time it simply spins and moans and goes nowhere.  Romney also promises that the car is OK.  He promises to make the necessary repairs, yet he can’t fix it either for the same reasons that Obama can’t fix it.

We could really get into the debate about who really owns our car and who pays for its maintenance and chauffeurs.  For now suffice it to say that our car runs on a prayer and a dream, and God only knows how it still holds together.

Historically, “We the People Passengers” have acquiesced to a system of a simple vote;  fix the engine or fix the transmission.  Both parties spend millions trying to convince us which way to go.  Never mind that the 1% who runs our car has for themselves dozens of brand new cars and homes to put them in.  Never mind that they have made their money off of our money and our hard work.  Never mind that the real problem is that most voters are so busy keeping their own cars going that they don’t know where “We the People’s” car is headed.

The 1%’s politicians keep telling us that it is the American way to vote to fix our car.  By God it is patriotic!  Look how this car got its start!  Look at how many people have died in wars just to keep it running!  Sure it has some problems and some work to be done, but it can be the best darn car in the world again!  Just wait and see!

I have had friends and family tell me that I have to vote.  “If you don’t vote the other side will win”.  “Yes I  know that you are voting for the lesser of two evils – you still have to vote!”  “If you vote for Jill Stein the Republicans will win, just like when Nader ran!”

Well, I don’t think I am going to vote.  I would rather go to a demonstration.  At least there I can carry a sign, sing, and express myself.   Maybe I will get arrested as proof that I took a stand for something I really believe in.

Otherwise, I say let's get out of car American in order to avoid being in a major accident with multiple fatalities!   Let the damn thing break down.  Maybe then “We the People" can fix it and save the lives of our kids and grand kids.

The Bi-National 1% Put Profit Above Human Life

In response:
Caravan for Peace

It is foolish to believe that failed drug, weapons, and immigration policies are anything less than a bi-national problem.  Yet anyone who has studied these problems for years knows that neither the US or Mexican government will acknowledge this and its insidious underlying truth:  the 1% run US government and the 1% run Mexican government care only about profit.
Take the time to read how the US Department of State raves about “our” relationship with Mexico.

Now read the underlying truth that Professor James Petras writes about:  “Imperialism: Bankers, Drug Wars and Genocide”

Do you think the Mexican undocumented would come or stay in the US if they could make a decent living wage at home?

Do you actually think that the bottom line to this whole bi-national crisis is about anything other than profit?

I salute Javier Sicilia and the Caravan for Peace.  They challenge both governments and the 1%’s status quo of putting profit above human life.

Americans need to wake up and break through the usual US propaganda about Mexico, drug wars, weapons, and immigration.

We can learn a great deal from Javier Sicilia and his Caravan.  We can learn how to organize and peacefully protest in both countries.  We can expose the truth and have a chance to fix both broken countries.
