Illegal Immigration and Immigration Reform: It's All About Profit
All State and Federal Government political interests in illegal immigration (for and against) and immigration reform (for and against) can be traced to back to one motive: profit.
Politicians profit from the pro-immigration Latino vote.
Corporations profit from undocumented laborers.
Washigton's crony US border security industries profit from billions in border security boodle.
Privatized prisons profit from undocumented inmates.
The undocumenteds' home country economic elite profit from their undocumenteds' remittances.
Border states economically profit from doubling the size of the US Border Patrol.
Private citizens profit by paying undocumented laborers cheap wages.
US colleges profit by having undocumented students attend their schools.
The US and Mexican NAFTA elite profit by sharing 1.25 billion dollars a day in cross border trade despite the fact that the disparity in wealth their profits bring cause continued illegal immigration.
Meanwhile who suffers the consequences of over-crowded hospital emergency rooms, losses of jobs, and unfair and costly demographic changes to their home towns?
Worst of all, who will continue to die illegally crossing the border because they are lured here by an insidious system that treats border deaths as a cost of doing business?
And who selfishly advocates for "immigration reform" while refusing to protest or address the exact causes that brought the undocumented here to begin with?
