Washington's Immigration Reform Will Lure Millions More Undocumented Here And Cause Thousands More Border Deaths

Washington's Immigration Reform Will Lure Millions More Undocumented Here And Cause Thousands More Border Deaths

It is perplexing to see immigration reform advocates demand reform that keeps families together while saying absolutely nothing of Washigton's (and the undocumenteds' home country governments') economic polices (NAFTA/CAFTA) that cause illegal immigration, family separations and deportations to begin with.

On all parts common sense and human kindness have been thrown under the immigration reform bus.

Washington politicians are the most insidious of all as they disregard the wishes of "We The People" and push for immigration reform that hides their own responsibility in creating illegal immigration (that causes the need for immigration reform).

Yes. This is a nasty, inhumane cycle. Meanwhile - both Washington politicians and immigration reform advocates attempt to satisfy their own selfish reform desires knowing (without a doubt) that this reform du jour will lure millions more undocumted people here and cause thousands more border deaths.

And where do US taxpayers fit into this scheme?

Same place as they always have. They will continue to suffer undocumented-related, over-crowded hospital emergency rooms, losses of jobs, and unwelcomed/unfair demographic changes to their towns.

  1. NAFTA and CAFTA have indeed displaced people--uprooting entire families, communities, and decimating entire ecosystems. I get it--most immigrant rights groups aren't raising this issue--good point. However, the fact that families once displaced by US economic imperialism (and war in the case of 1980s immigration from Central America and new immigration for the 'war on drugs') should suffer again once here is just short sited. This myth of overcrowded hospital emergency rooms and loss of jobs is just that. But then the racism comes out when you talk about 'unwelcomed/unfair democraphic changes'. If you are truly opposed to the economic policies of CAFTA/NAFTA then why not see displaced economic refugees due to US imperialism as worthy of human rights to equal treatment where ever they should land. Immigration reform doesn't fix US imperialism--we do need to stop free trade agreements and neoliberal policies but we can both create humane immigration reform and change this underlying policies that force people to migrate. Indeed, we can have our cake and eat it too in this case. No more NAFTAs/CAFTAs and yes to immigration reform.

  2. I know from my own experience about overcrowded hospital rooms and losses of good jobs to the undocumented. So your disagreeing rhetoric won't change what I know to be the truth. I also know about my home town of San Jacinto, CA which was inundated with the undocumented after NAFTA. I am not a racist. I am angry that our government uses the undocumented to screw Americans. I also know many generous American people who have watched their hometowns change for worse. We have had it. Estamos hasta la madre tambien.

Name one good reason why American citizens should have to deal with the rapid inundation of undocumented to their home towns? It is not their faults that they were thrown under the NAFTA bus.

You need to get this because it is one main reason why immigration reform is failing. Advocates refuse to acknowledge that Americans suffer from illegal immigration too. Advocates refuse to acknowledge that Americans have every right to be angry about a system that favors the undocumented more than US citizens.

So you can put your racist card back in the deck and pull the "taken advantage of/screwed by our own government" card instead.

Your ideas about changing economic polices are great and valid. They just need to be included in "reform" NOW not AFTER any reform is passed.

I will no longer buy the Washington's "fly now pay later" government lies and propaganda.

Finally I notice that you did not mention border deaths. Reform now that increases border security without addressing the economic polices that brought the 11.2 million (or more) undocumented here to begin with will lure millions more people here and result in l t in the deaths of thousands more undocumented on the border. That is more of same damn insanity.

  3. When the Trans Pacific partnership is rammed through, we will see this kind of illegal invasion from countries that are Pacific rim countries who sign on to this new trade treaty.

This is the result of the kind of idealism seen in John Lennon's song Imagine.

    "Imagine there's no countries
    It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
    And no religion too
Imagine all the people living life in peace."

Somehow it is just not working out like the New Agers thought. It is resulting in death, destruction and mega-corporatism to which so many are falling prey as borders are smudged in an attempt to create a one world government; a New World Order, based not on equality, but on the concept of the elite and serfs who have nothing.

    "Imagine no possessions
    I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
    A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people sharing all the world"

The 'brotherhood of man' thing got lost in the implementation. We know, however, that those in charge and pulling the puppet strings from which we who are among the awake are attempting to disentangle ourselves and our world, never planned to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony---unless it was the harmony of a forced work chain gang.

UN Agenda 21 mandates the dissolution of the middle class as 'unsustainable' while calling Monsanto's agricultural policies of dumping more and more poison on our food 'sustainable.'
