As a retired US Border Patrol/INS/ICE agent, I am sad to see this insanity go on. Washington and the undocumenteds' home country elite create illegal immigration by their own NAFTA, CAFTA, and profitable drug wars. Then its corporate cronies cash in on millions of undocumented laborers and billions in border security/drug war boodle.
"Reform" activists selfishly demand relief while ignoring that millions more people will continue to suffer not only in their home countries but once they cross the border too.
Immigration greed - from the personal to the corporate - rules the day.
Washington's illegal immigration profiteers do not discuss the actual reasons why people come here or their own culpability in the process. Nor do they care about border deaths or the tens of thousands of people who have been slaughtered in their 40+ year long, failed drug war.
We have indeed met the enemy Pogo, yet most people continue to ignore him or are him.
