Mexico's Economy Is Dependent Upon Remittances From And Illegal Immigration To The US

Mexico's Economy Is Dependent Upon Remittances From And Illegal Immigration To The US

From the article:  "Mexico received $19.8 billion in remittances from emigrants in the first 11 months of 2013".  I think it is safe to extrapolate that Mexico received 20 billion dollars in remittances for the entire 2013.

Do you realize how much money that really is?

In one billion there are 1,000 millions
In 20 billion there are 20,000 millions
That is like 100,000 people getting $200,000 each
Or 500,000 people getting $40,000 each
Or 1,000,000 ( 1 million) people getting $20,000 each
Or 2,000,000 (2 million) people getting $10,000 each
Or 3,000,000 (3 million) people getting $6,667 each
Or 4,000,000 (4 million) people getting $5, 000 each
Or 10,000,000 (10 million) people getting $2,000 each

Is Mexico's economy dependent upon remittances sent home?  http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-18095241

And if the majority of remittances are sent my the undocumented, is Mexico's economy dependent upon illegal immigration to the US?

Is the US economy NAFTA dependent upon Mexico's economy?  If it is, is it any wonder why the Washington most legalize the undocumented in the US and not "seal off" the border?
